La Taverna dei Quaranta is a historic restaurant in downtown Rome . The Taverna dei Quaranta restaurant is located in Rome's historical Rione Celio district, just next to the Colosseum. The location owns some of the most’ poetic and striking history in the myths and literature of the ancient Roman days, including the large grassy area across the road which used to be the ancient gathering spot for summer hearings, political announcements and more, where visitors would come to get wonderful views of the Colosseum, the Servian Wall and gather in the Piazza del Celio.
